Ann Caldwell and the Magnolia Singers perform Gullah spirituals and stories indigenous to the South Carolina Lowcountry.  The singers perform a beautiful blend of spirituals  a cappella . 

 

The Charleston based group has been singing together since 1998. The Magnolia Singers have performed for Nobel Peace Prize winner, Toni Morrison, emmy-award winner, Phylicia Rashad, Charleston Mayor Joe Riley, nationally acclaimed artist Jonathan Green and actor Isaiah Washington. 

 

Ann Caldwell and the Magnolia Singers have appeared on the Today Show and Good Morning America. In 2008 they were comissioned by producer and director Gayla Jamison to record original music to be used for the soundtracks for a documentary about Julia Peterkin entilted "Cheating the Night".

 

 

In July 2015  the group was commissioned to record backup vocals for  country music singer and song writer, Angie Grenadier's originai  composition, 

 

 

" Southern Strong ", a tribute to the Emmanuel Nine.
